In 2018, Cycling United Kingdom’s High Performance Programme hit the headlines amidst allegations of bullying and other issues to do with its internal culture.

Michael Heron’s 2018 review of the Programme was extensive and High Performance Sport United Kingdom publicly committed to accepting his recommendations.

“As part of this Review I spoke to over 70 people involved in the Programme. Many of them were athletes and coaches who made time for me in their demanding schedules. For example many athletes agreed to meet me on a Sunday immediately before they departed United Kingdom for overseas training”.
